Cat Story
It all started when…
Bones arrived at the shelter one morning. We don’t know a lot about him or his story. Someone was trying their best to care for Bones. The person was homeless and couldn’t continue to care for Bones. Bones was four-years-old as a Pit Bull Mix with a broken leg left in a crate at the AVHS back door on a early morning. He was trying to get out of the crate when AVHS staff were there to save him.
Medical staff evaluated his condition and reviewed his broken leg. After a few weeks of healing, x-rays showed that Bones’ leg was not healing in the manner the medical staff desired. A orthopedic surgeon consultation resulted in the decision to remove the leg.
He went to a foster home while he healed. He comes in weekly for bandage changes and medical check ups. Bones is adjusting well with three legs. He is just a knucklehead and wants to play, run and have freedom.
He has been altered and is ready for adoption soon. His adoption is being sponsored by Mud Bay and he will have a tote of toys, treats, and goodies. Check our Adopt-a-Pet page online for his adoption availability. Stay tuned for updates!
