PRINCESS PEANUT’S STORY

It all started when…

Princess Peanut was so elegantly named by her foster. She came to the shelter as a stray animal, that was heavily matted and in need of urgent medical attention. Due to her mats, the staff was unable to see her face, eyes or even ears!

It took two veterinary support staff and a veterinarian to shave the mats off her body under anesthesia. During that time, it was found that she had severe dental disease with many infected and painful teeth. Those 3 staff went to work to carefully extract 13 teeth!

On recovery, Princess Peanut felt a million dollars! She scarfed down her canned dog food. She very quickly requested a sweater with her new streamlined look. If that wasn’t enough for the poor dog, she only has 3 legs!

Her foster says that Princess Peanut was a pleasure to be around. She demands everyone’s attention as if to say, “Look at the new me!”

After a bit of recovery, Princess Peanut was available for adoption. She was in our care for 30 days.

She’s a 7-year-old female, with some tender loving care from the medical staff and foster family, found her forever family!

Thanks to our lifesaving efforts, Princess Peanut’s life has been extended and given a second chance! Please consider donating to help support other animals in our care.
