Dear Friends of Auburn Valley Humane Society and the NW Spay and Neuter Center,

The Auburn Valley Humane Society proudly announces Katrina Megrath as its new CEO of Operations and Animal Care. Katrina oversees operations at both the Shelter and the Northwest Spay and Neuter Center. Katrina started with AVHS at the end of April and has been busy at work prioritizing animal care and welfare, meeting our wonderful staff, and getting to know our volunteers, donors, and community partners.

With over 23 years’ experience in the veterinary field and a deep commitment to animal welfare, Katrina brings extensive expertise in compassionate care, team development, and business operations. She previously held leadership roles at University Place Veterinary Hospital and The Pet Doctor in Lakewood, WA, where she successfully oversaw hospital operations, trained veterinary teams, and implemented strategic initiatives to enhance animal care services.

Katrina’s dedication extends beyond her professional work through her volunteer efforts with The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, where she helped foster and rehabilitate animals in need. Katrina is excited about this opportunity and says, “I am honored to join the Auburn Valley Humane Society and contribute to its meaningful work. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated team and volunteers to make a difference in the lives of animals and the community.”
