103 Dogs surrendered to Animal Control

AVHS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

On August 20th, Auburn Valley Humane Society worked alongside the Auburn Police Department, led by Animal Control Officer Ray Peckham, in a large-scale animal surrender. On-site, our team initially processed intakes for 82 dogs. With our shelter already over capacity, this was a tremendous undertaking. Since then, an additional 21 dogs were rescued.

We are grateful to our friends at Seattle Humane, who came directly to the scene and took in 17 dogs—already on their way to brighter futures. Other partners, Skagit Valley Humane Society took 28 dogs, Forgotten Dog Rescue took 6, and Asher House took 2.

Now, we’re asking for your support to help the many dogs who remain in our care: There are 12 dogs in our care.

📦 Donate supplies: Visit our Amazon Wish List to send much-needed items directly to the shelter. We are also accepting drop-off donations of clean, gently used towels and fleece blankets.

💙 Give financially: Your donations will help us provide medical care, medications, flea treatment, and dewormer for these dogs. Every dollar makes a difference! Our website has a button that makes it easy to donate.

The dogs will be posted to our website, https://www.auburnvalleyhs.org/adopt-a-pet, when they become available.

♻ Share our posts and tell your friends and family to consider ways they can help.

Together, we can turn this moment of crisis into a story of hope. Thank you for standing with us and these deserving animals.
